About the event
“Sunflower House” is a charming picture book about three children who plant sunflower seeds in a circle, care for them, and enjoy a summerhouse made of the giant blooms, saving the seeds to plant another year. Students will be guided to construct a center and stem of a sunflower using paint on a wooden canvas. The lesson will then transition into an open-ended studio session where young artists exercise creative decision-making to build out their flower's radial symmetry by choosing materials to create petals.
