His combined interests in art and ornithology turned into a plan to make a complete pictorial record of all the bird species of North America. He observed thousands of species of birds, created life-like renderings, and made extensive notes on their behaviors. We will observe attributes of trumpeter swans and create a realistic likeness using soft pastels on toned paper.
